Geeking Out – Using PODHD as MIDI Controller

Please forgive my nerdiness for a moment. I tweeted earlier today that I was trying to figure out how to use my POD HD500 as a MIDI footswitch, and several people asked me to provide the solution if it worked. Well, it’s finally working for me, which is awesome because it means I don’t have to spend $200 on a MIDI footswitch.

The video is laughable, I am not a tech guru by any stretch, so please forgive me if my methods are beyond elementary. If you’ve got additional ideas or fixes, please let me know. I think this could end up being a pretty useful tool for worship leaders or guitar players. You could theoretically fire click/tracks for songs from your position, which would be pretty useful in certain situations, and you won’t have to have a separate piece of gear onstage.
