If you’ve been journeying along with us for the past 13 days, you certainly recognize that a large portion of our prayer has stayed pretty much the same each day. The scripture readings change each day, but most of the “wrapper” stays the same. This is for two reasons: 1. I’m a Baptist boy trying to understand the Book of Common Prayer, so it’s entirely possible I’ve gotten this wrong. 2. Sometimes repetition helps us dig deep into things we would otherwise gloss over. In some ways, the repetition itself reminds us of the feeling of longing and desperation that the Jews felt waiting for the arrival of Messiah. So, if you feel like the repetition grows old, that’s a good thing! Try praying through it, and see if something new pops out at you.

Today we’re back to where we started, Jonathan Shelton will be leading our morning prayer session. Here we go…
