Feb 15 – Lent Project – Candi Shelton

On February 15, 2013 by Eddie

Hi everyone!  Welcome to day 3 of the Lent Project, and thanks for taking the journey with us.  My name is Candi Shelton, and I wear lots of hats.  Probably most well-known is the worship leader one, but some of my favorite hats include wife to Jonathan Shelton, mom to Elias  (4) & Ellery (2), and yummy cupcake baker. We live our crazy, colorful, wonderful life in Alpharetta, GA.

Today’s text centers around the sufficiency of Christ and our ability to take refuge in Him, to see God as our rock and our fortress, and to understand the enormous value of intentional time spent with Him. Over and over the Psalmist cries out to God as “refuge,” and we see two of the disciples decide on an impromptu day spent just hanging out with Jesus.  It’s a wonderful collaborative picture of God’s worth, and a challenge for us to remember to reflect on it by carving out space to be with Him.  So let’s dive in!
