Feb 21 – Lent Project – Reid Greven

On February 21, 2013 by Eddie

Hi Everyone!

My name is Reid Greven, and I’m privileged to serve as the Associate Music Director at North Point Community Church. But more importantly, I am husband to the incredible Jennifer and father to 3 brilliant kids that keep us on our toes: Ella (8), Cooper (5) and Parker (2).  And although I’m Canadian, this year I celebrate spending half my life in the United States! Maybe I should get a cake for that…

Today’s Lent Project devotional is Day 9, and focuses on two different aspects.

One is that it encourages us to verbally declare and proclaim the glory of God. It says to “open our lips, and our mouth shall declare your praise” and “Almighty God, we worship you… for your glory”.

The second is the comparison of God’s “Old Testament” power and judgement, while the New Testament’s story of Jesus arriving on this earth shows that He came to save the world through Him.

God’s miraculous power and glory shine in different ways through both sets of Scripture, but the underlying themes are the same – that God’s love is our rescue from whatever trials this life brings our way, and – most importantly – rescue from our own sin through Christ our Savior.

– Reid
